For the Core Science GCSE you will study nine modules - 3 Biology - (B1, B2 and B3), 3 Chemistry (C1, C2 and C3) and 3 Physics (P1, P2 and P3). You will be examined in these modules by three exams in the Winter (January/February) and the Summer (May/June). These exams give you 50% of your marks, you will also sit a written exam in the summer based on three media articles, this accounts for a further 16.6% of your marks.

You will also write two pieces of coursework during the year. A data analysis based on a class experiment that you have done and a Case Study of a science topic in the media that interests you.
